Sinegugu Mthembu is a wife to an amazing man and a mother to three most gorgeous girls. She is also an Accountant by profession. Affectionately known as Sne, she is based on the Northern Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, where she lives with her family.
A lifelong dream was realised when her debut book, The Mind That Often Changes was published in July 2020. The Dust Settles is the second installment to Changes Series as she calls this set of books. She is proud of having finally mastered the courage to pen her thoughts and explore this creative side of her.
“The Dust Settles is the brilliant follow-up to Sinegugu Mthembu’s debut offering, The Mind That Often Changes, which introduced us to the tender yet complicated love story between Mangi and Amandla.
Mthembu’s growth from her first offering is pleasantly evident and is sure to leave you longing desperately for the next release. I hope the reach of Mthembu’s work matches the very palpable passion poured into it. Black female South African authors are proving their mettle and what a pleasure it is to live in a world that I am confident is ready to receive them in all their glory.” – Njabs Zwane – Radio Personality
The Mind That Often Changes
...and the heart that won't let it.
With her mother dead and her father out of reach, Amandla Zande grew up reserved and alone. At 17 and in matric, she matured fast, having to manage life on her own and with no-one to share her burdens and the deep secret she carried around with her every day.
Now a 23-year-old graduate and junior accounts assistant, time and chance cause her to cross paths with Mangaliso Zulu, a 32-year-old business mogul and owner of MZ Holdings Inc. He is well established, experienced and a ladies man who is out of her league to her inexperience, complications and nightmares engulfing her life.
Amandla’s world is turned upside down as she is unable to resist his advances and is not immune to his charm and of course his eyes: exquisite, alluring, priceless emerald. His love warms her dead heart, but fate has no heart. Will she be able to handle the pressure of dating someone like Mangi? Will the universe and blasts from the past allow their fairy-tale to blossom? Or will the secret she carries destroy them? Moreover, will her heart be strong enough to accept the fate of their relationship?
Mangi and Amandla’s love seems perfect but can a perfect love survive an imperfect past?
The Dust Settles
...will the dust really settle?
What was supposed to be a romantic dinner for two ended in agony for both Amandla and Mangi, and Amandla packed her bags and left the house and heart that felt like home. It’s a decision that will prove to both just how much love can hurt but will also stretch what both thought was their capacity to endure, forgive and heal.
On the other side of Amandla’s heartbreak and confusion, Mangi’s resolution on the direction he wants to steer this relationship has never been clearer: marry Amandla, come hell, Cindy or “broken waters”. But how can this possibly come to pass with the new, life-changing responsibility that will definitely alter everyone’s life as they know it?
Will the third corner of this sudden love triangle prove to be too much, too soon, for the young couple?
Will Mangi’s “aesthetically untainted” family accept Amandla and all the complications she comes with?
Will Patrick Zande ever taste freedom and walk her daughter down the aisle? Will the dust ever REALLY settle?
